- Chatter → tighten clamps, chill block, fresh blade area
- Compression → sharp blade, cold block, slow cut
- Score lines → check for calcium/sutures, change blade
- No ribbon → clean edge, add humidity, trim square
- Holes/tears → reprocess, remove hard inclusions
