Decalcification Quick Guide
- Fix fully before decalcifying
- EDTA — gentle, antigen-friendly, slow
- Acid decalcifiers — faster, can harm antigens/DNA
- Check end-point (do not over-decalcify)
- Rinse well before processing
- Prefer EDTA when IHC / molecular is planned
Over-decalcification degrades staining and morphology.
