Section placed on the wrong (back) side of the slide
The section appears inverted or not adhering properly to the slide, with potential loss of staining.
Where it usually appears: Typically appears during slide preparation or mounting processes.
- Slide was flipped or rotated incorrectly during placement
- Section adhered to the wrong side of the slide due to handling errors
- Verify the orientation of the section on the slide
- Check for proper adherence of the section
- Remove the section and re-mount it on the correct side of the slide
- Ensure the section is properly oriented before mounting
- Implement a double-check system for slide orientation
- Train staff on proper handling techniques for slides
