Temperature & Humidity Monitoring SOP

Purpose

To ensure that temperature and humidity levels in the laboratory are maintained within specified limits to preserve sample integrity.

Scope

This SOP applies to all areas of the laboratory where temperature and humidity monitoring is required.

Responsibilities

• Quality Manager: Oversee monitoring procedures and compliance
• Laboratory Staff: Conduct daily checks and record data
• Maintenance Personnel: Address any equipment malfunctions

• Temperature and humidity monitoring device
• Calibration tools
• Data recording sheets
• Logbook

Procedure

1. Check the calibration of the monitoring device weekly.
2. Record the current temperature and humidity levels at the beginning of each shift.
3. Ensure monitoring devices are placed in designated areas.
4. Review recorded data daily for any anomalies.
5. Investigate any readings outside of acceptable ranges immediately.
6. Document any corrective actions taken in the logbook.
