Purpose
To orient and embed tissue in paraffin blocks correctly.

Procedure
- Confirm cassette identity before embedding.
- Orient tissue correctly (e.g., skin on edge, tubular structures in cross-section).
- Embed in molten paraffin, transfer the labelled cassette base, and cool on the cold plate.
- Verify one block per cassette with matching identity.
Records
- Block register (via cassette ID)
Safety
- Hot surfaces and molten wax — burn precautions.
