Stitching artifacts across scan tiles
Also known as: stitching errors, tile misalignment
Visible lines or seams between adjacent scan tiles that disrupt the continuity of the image.
Where it usually appears: Commonly observed in large tissue sections or when multiple tiles are stitched together during digital scanning.
- Inconsistent focus across tiles
- Improper calibration of the scanner
- Variations in scanning speed or settings
- Verify scanner calibration settings
- Inspect the scanned tiles for alignment issues
- Re-scan the affected areas with adjusted settings
- Manually correct stitching in image processing software
- Regularly calibrate the scanner before use
- Use consistent scanning parameters for all tiles
