Air bubbles trapped under the section
Air bubbles appear as clear circles or voids beneath the tissue section on the slide.
Where it usually appears: Typically observed during the mounting process of the slide.
- Insufficient immersion in mounting medium
- Rapid application of mounting medium
- Inadequate warming of the slide
- Poor technique during slide preparation
- Inspect the slide for visible bubbles
- Check the viscosity of the mounting medium
- Gently tap the slide to dislodge bubbles
- Reapply mounting medium if necessary
- Ensure proper technique during slide preparation
- Allow mounting medium to flow slowly over the section
